Judicial positions in Pakistan are notoriously difficult to fill, and demand has far outstripped supply for years. Just over 2,000 of Pakistan’s 4,200 judicial positions were filled as of 2016, according to Justice Shakirullah Jan.

The new judges will be selected from several different cadres—the judiciary has 17 permanent benches across Pakistan—and will focus on specific locations within their jurisdictions. In some cases, candidates with at least 10 years of legal experience may also apply for District Munsif jobs under a separate category.

A little known fact is that now and then, competition in recruitment exams conducted by government agencies can be intense. Especially so if there’s a lot of awareness of a job opening; because otherwise, there could still be many people in your area who would welcome such jobs with open arms.

A candidate with prior experience can have an advantage when it comes to sitting for such recruitment exams because he/she may already know what sort of questions are going to come up during interviews and how he/she might tackle those questions.

In addition to having prior experience, it’s also important to understand what exactly is being asked for on any particular exam form. You might be familiar with one type of question or format and suddenly come across a different format

—this could throw you off balance or cause you to waste valuable time. Make sure that you know how an exam will be conducted, what kind of questions will be asked, and how much time you’ll have to answer those questions.

Police Department vide Memo No.A-7/97(Misc.) dated 30th September 1997 and further amended by Government order date: 27th May 2000.
