Company Introduction:
Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited KS&EW is located in West Warf, Karachi, Sindh. It is a representative of the Pakistani government in the security field.
To this day, KSEW Limited is reported to be the only shipyard in Pakistan, where shipbuilding, ship repair, and general heavy engineering machinery are produced. It has been responsible for developing several cargo ships, oil tankers, tug boats, support vessels, landing craft, ships, and submarines for the Pakistan Navy since its founding.
It offers and fixes vehicles for a great number of customers in Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, Karachi Port Trust, Port Qasim Authority, and the private sector in Pakistan. All shares of the company are owned entirely by the country of Pakistan, administrative control falling to the Ministry of Defense.
It began as a project of the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) in the fifties and was later incorporated in 1957 as a company qualified to offer shares to the public.
It is equipped with a shipbuilding hall, three blockmaking areas, three shipbuilding berths, two drydocks, a machine shop, blasting grit, and a painting facility, a 7881-ton-capacity ship lift, and a conveyor system.
